Came here on a weekday for a late lunch/early dinner to avoid the crowd. This place is just as good as I remember!
My boyfriend went here for the first time, and he loves it! We ordered a small beef combo and a beef tartare (yukhoe). The server was very attentive and friendly. They also cook your meat for you. I usually only like beef brisket at any AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant, but this restaurant has the best short ribs! I also liked the beef tartare a lot but my boyfriend wasn't a fan. The combo comes with either tofu soup or beef bean stew. We chose the bean stew because we never tried a good bean stew. My boyfriend and I both loved it!
I'll definitely come back again in the near future :) -

Ever since moving out of LA, my boyfriend and I always crave good KBBQ so when we get a chance to visit, we always stop by a KBBQ place. Since my parents are nearby, we've been to this restaurant several times and always enjoyed our time here.
Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong is a chain of KBBQ restaurants by Kang Ho Dong, a South Korean celebrity. You see a big sign of him right when you enter the restaurant. What's different about this place from the KBBQ places of my college days is that is it not AYCE. It is pricier but I think the cuts of meat are much better quality than an AYCE location. There's also different banchan and the whole steamed egg and cheese corn thing.
The service is great. The servers are friendly. I'm not completely used to having someone cooking all the food for me (mostly because I feel awkward and don't know what else to do but stare at the food).
Alsooo what's also great about this location is that it's located in a plaza with tons of other restaurants/dessert locations. You have ice cream right next door and Meet Fresh across the parking lot! Because of this, this plaza gets really popular. There's additional parking underground.
Note that I have not been to the LA location. -

This place has always been great honestly, I'm so glad they opened up a location around my neighborhood. I'm currently writing a review because our service tonight was absolutely phenomenal. Our server (his name tag said Tim) was literally rushing around for everybody and I requested a lot of things and he didn't forget a single thing, and took care of everything so efficiently. AND on top of that, he was super nice to us and other tables, probably the best service I've received anywhere. The only part I'm upset about was that he apologized at the end of the meal cause he thought the service was slow, which was ridiculous because I thought he was perfectly fine. He deserves a raise or something, cause it was honestly great and the meal was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if it's rather late at night and you're hungry.

Expensive but sooo good! This isn't a typical AYCE join where you cook the meats yourself. Their small combo is enough to feed two people but there's so many sides around you you'll get pretty stuffed. The waiters here cook for you and the service is pretty great.

After hearing all the hype for several years, I have finally had my first experience at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. What took me so long? I don't know, but I'm here now. I came here for a work outing with 7 others on a Friday at 10:30pm. This location has a shared parking lot, which, I'm sure gets packed at peak hours, but it had spots when we came.
The Price:
This place is not all you can eat and the price is a bit high compared to other Kbbq places, but you are paying for the quality.
The Food:
We ordered the beef and pork large combo. All the meat cuts were tender and had great flavor, but I personally felt that the pork stood out the most. Apart from the pork, the marinated short rib is a must get.
The Service:
Our personal waiters (Ken, Richard, and Justin) were very attentive and friendly. They accommodated all our needs in a timely and enthusiastic manner. They also cooked all the meat for us, so we could sit back, relax, and enjoy the food.
Overall, I had a great experience, from the food to the service, and I will definitely be back soon with my family.
Shout outs to the other servers (Hodong, Andy, Hieu, Marco) and the hostess (Michelle) who helped make the experience even better, from their greetings to helping with miscellaneous things we asked for during the meal. I asked for all of their names because of their excellent service.
